Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.
- Proverbs 22:6

What We Offer

A Christ-centered curriculum:
We offer a curriculum in which
every discipline is taught from a Christian world-view. No subject is
considered “secular” because all of life is sacred.

An excellent experienced faculty of Christian teachers and staff:
Our faculty consists of excellent Christian teachers who have dedicated themselves to the
ministry of Christian education.

A traditional, academically-challenging education:
The classical curriculum concentrates on the humanities, is teacher directed, and is rich in content.
Students are held to high expectations. It is based on reason and employs the model of the ancient Greek Trivium:

Grammar - knowledge, memorization
Logic - understanding, questioning
Rhetoric - application, creativity

We believe this curriculum provides students with the tools for learning and generates
within them a love and enthusiasm for learning as well as the discipline to accomplish it.

A loving, Christian environment with high behavioral expectations:
We require behavior that is both orderly and respectful of teachers and fellow students.

An extensive Campus:
We have six full-sized, self-contained classrooms, a
paved playground area, a full-sized gymnasium with shower facilities, and an
excellent preschool facility - all located on over three acres of land on the west
side of Pagosa Lakes area.

Our Savior Lutheran Church, Pagosa Springs, is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) and is committed to the doctrine of the Lutheran Church as presented in The Book of Concord.   What this means is that we are thoroughly committed to everything the Bible teaches. We are a congregation uniquely devoted to liturgical worship, to catechesis (Christian education), and to the centrality of the Holy Communion and other Sacraments in the life of the Christian.
